What does it mean to you to be a student-athlete at the Fox School of Business?

To me, being a student-athlete at the Fox School means finding a way to balance classes with the demand of collegiate athletics. That balance pushes you to stay disciplined and manage your time, since practices and games are stacked on top of schoolwork. I am very fortunate to represent Fox not just in the classroom, but by showing leadership and teamwork on the field, too.
What was your decision process like when choosing to attend Temple?

I was drawn to Temple for many reasons, but primarily for its strong academic offerings and location within the city of Philadelphia. I immediately noticed the Fox School’s excellent academic reputation and quickly learned how being in the city meant that I would be afforded access to opportunities and experiences that otherwise might not be available to me. Also, from an athletics standpoint, Temple’s facilities and resources made me realize that I could have the chance to compete as a Division I NCAA athlete while also being encouraged to focus on my future professional success. At the end of the day, it was clear that Temple was the place for me.
How has Fox supported your pursuits as a student-athlete?

Fox is very supportive toward its student athletes. The school does a great job at helping us balance both school and sports by being flexible and supportive when it comes to our packed schedules. As much as our schedules get hectic, I still feel that the school understands the demands of being an athlete and still allows us to participate in key extracurricular activities, like networking opportunities. There are lessons I’ve learned in class like leadership and problem-solving that carry over to the field. Overall, Fox makes it possible to succeed in both areas without having to choose one over the other.

“Balancing school and sports have shown me the importance of preparation and consistency in everything I do. Most of all, the experience has built a mindset of resilience that I’ll take with me long after graduation.“
How will your student-athlete experience benefit you beyond your time at Temple?

I know that being a student-athlete will benefit me beyond my time on campus because it’s taught me how to manage key elements like my time, how to stay disciplined and how to handle pressure. I’ve learned how to lead, but also how to work as part of a team toward a bigger goal. Balancing school and sports have shown me the importance of preparation and consistency in everything I do. Most of all, the experience has built a mindset of resilience that I’ll take with me long after graduation.
What would you say to a prospective student-athlete who is considering coming to Temple?

Between the friends I’ve made, the respect and guidance I’ve received from my professors and coaches, and the support I’ve felt from the surrounding community, Temple truly is a place that uplifts you. As someone from a small town in Connecticut, do not let the size and location intimidate you. Sure, I was hesitant at first, but the environment here suddenly feels like home. The opportunities, both in the classroom and on the field, have helped me growin so many ways.
What do you hope to achieve this fall semester? (Both athletically and academically)

This semester, and in the year ahead, my biggest goal is to finish my Temple career strong academically. Athletically, I want to continue to push myself to grow, be a great teammate, and contribute to helping the team succeed.
