Professional development opportunities expand at Fox School’s Center for Executive Education

The world’s workplace has changed dramatically over the past few years and the skills required to be successful continue to evolve as each new challenge appears.

The Center for Executive Education at Temple University’s Fox School of Business recognizes the need to provide timely, in-demand professional development and training opportunities that meet organizations and individuals where they are.

“Virtual programming offers us a great opportunity to expand our reach because we can truly have cohorts made up of professionals across the globe,” says Sheri Lambert, managing director of the center and assistant professor of marketing at the Fox School. “We have found that our virtual participants are highly engaged and eager to take what they have learned and build on that new knowledge every day with their colleagues.”

The center’s programming is designed to tap into the experience and expertise of the Fox School faculty, business industry leaders and subject matter experts who all serve as facilitators. Lambert and her team also have partnered with other Temple University centers including the Center for Compliance and Ethics at the Beasley School of Law and the Center for Ethics, Diversity and Workplace Culture at the Fox School to ensure that the learning opportunities are up-to-date with the latest research findings and trends.

“The center has developed and delivered custom programming around agile leadership, emotional Intelligence and inclusive supervision to its corporate partners,” says Rich Morris, associate director of business development at the center. “In addition to the return of our popular women’s leadership and digital marketing programs this spring, the center recently delivered a diversity, equity and inclusion program and added a compliance and business ethics workshop to its open enrollment offerings.”

People skills have always been part of being a successful leader, but now the know-how to lead a remote team and create an inclusive workplace are now at the forefront of leadership skills and qualities.

The Women’s Leadership Series is a three-day, virtual open enrollment program that provides experiential learning opportunities for mid-level professionals looking to take the next step in their careers. The series is led by six facilitators who excel in the areas of executive presence and communication, leadership style, finance, negotiations, career management and organizational change.

“The center is excited to work with another group of participants in our upcoming Women’s Leadership Series,” says Renee Hartwell, assistant director at the center. “We have delivered this series to several cohorts of professional women and, each time, our participants tell us how after completing the series, they feel more prepared to take the next step in their careers.

“This confidence is fostered by the program’s unique content, expert faculty and generous  opportunities for networking among the participants.”

Also available this spring is Digital Marketing: Data Visualization & Smarketing, a four-day virtual workshop that teaches professionals about key digital marketing channels and strategies available to them. Participants will learn how to develop an ROI-based marketing plan that will identify the most effective outcomes for both customers and an organization.

“The course is designed for professionals who want to master the fundamentals of digital marketing strategies and current digital marketers who want to learn the latest concepts,” says Lambert, who also serves as one of the facilitators.

Rounding out the spring offerings is Strike the Balance: Integrating Business, Compliance and Ethics, a four-day, in-person program designed to help compliance and risk management professionals meet business challenges ethically, legally and sustainably.

A collaboration between Temple’s Beasley School of Law and the Fox School of Business, the program will also benefit in-house and outside counsel, audit professionals and outside advisors to organizations. It will be held in the Center for Executive Education’s fifth-floor learning space at 1810 Liacouras Walk on Temple’s Main Campus.
