What does it mean to you to be a student-athlete at the Fox School of Business?

I find that it is a privilege to be able to learn from such esteemed professors at the Fox School while also having the opportunity to pursue my athletic goals. Being a part of such rigorous programs can be challenging at times, but the gratification and opportunities that result from the student-athlete experience makes it all worthwhile.

What was your decision process like when choosing to attend Temple?

When considering what school I was looking to attend, I chose Temple, as I was looking for a place that fit me both academically and athletically. In the end, Temple had everything I could have wanted for my student-athlete experience: competitive academics and athletics that would push me to work hard and a location in a city environment that also had a strong identity of campus life. Although I was at first unsure about what I wanted to pursue academically, I had the chance to explore all that the campus had to offer and eventually was fortunate to find my passion in Fox.

How has Fox supported your pursuits as a student-athlete?

I feel very supported by Fox in my student-athlete pursuits! I’ve found that Fox professors are usually very understanding and accommodating to student-athletes, especially when it comes to having to miss a class for a game. While you don’t want to miss class often, especially with the course load I am taking, having supportive professors goes a very long way to help me succeed both in the classroom and on the field.

How will your student-athlete experience benefit you beyond your time at Temple?

I know my student-athlete experience will benefit me greatly across my entire life! Being a student-athlete has allowed me to really work at mastering time management, teamwork, leadership and discipline skills, all things that I can take into my future career. Especially as a business management major, I have already utilized and will continue to use the endless resources provided by the Fox School for help with shaping my professional future.

What would you say to a prospective student-athlete who is considering coming to Temple?

I’d tell any prospective student-athlete considering coming here to Temple that it’s an exciting chance to be part of a vibrant community with a strong athletic program! Temple offers a balance between academics and athletics, providing access to excellent facilities, coaching staff and resources to help you succeed both in your sport and in the classroom. You’ll also have the chance to compete at a high level and create lifelong friendships with teammates. Plus, being in Philadelphia means you’ll be in a city that is filled with culture and opportunities. Overall, this community will help you grow as an athlete and a student while preparing you for your future.
