PHILADELPHIA, November 18, 2024 — Temple University’s Fox School of Business Center for Ethics, Diversity and Workplace Culture (CEDWC), a hub for research, dialogue and innovation focused on ethical decision-making and the creation of healthy workplace cultures, is proud to introduce Timothy Fair as the Center’s new senior advisory board chairperson.

A dedicated advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), Fair began his journey at Burlington Stores as vice president of DEI. He now serves in an expanded role as vice president of culture and community impact, overseeing DEI initiatives while also driving community relations and philanthropic efforts through the Burlington Foundation. Fair joins the CEDWC board with a proven track record as a transformative leader and after years of demonstrated success implementing critical initiatives and programming across various professional platforms.

“CEDWC is thrilled to welcome Timothy as the new chair of our advisory board,” says Leora Eisenstadt, director of CEDWC, associate professor of legal studies and the Murray Shusterman Research Fellow.

“I am honored to serve as chair of CEDWC’s advisory board, representing Burlington in our shared focus on fostering ethical and inclusive workplace cultures.”

“Burlington has been a valuable partner of Temple University and the Fox School of Business, and we are excited to continue that partnership. Timothy has participated in events and made strategic contributions to CEDWC that have already been fundamental to the center’s development. We look forward to working under Timothy’s guidance moving forward.”

In addition to Burlington, CEDWC’s advisory board is comprised of senior executives from various multinational corporations, such as Comcast, EY, Merrill Lynch, KPMG and more.

While in his role as vice president of culture and community impact, Fair has also been serving as vice president of the Burlington Stores Foundation since March. Previously, he has held positions as the inaugural vice chancellor for diversity and inclusion at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans and chief of staff and deputy to the vice president for diversity and inclusion at Auburn University. Additionally, his professional career began with impactful roles at Cornell University and Mississippi State University, where he contributed to advancing transformative institutional strategies.

“I am honored to serve as chair of CEDWC’s advisory board, representing Burlington in our shared focus on fostering ethical and inclusive workplace cultures,” Fair says.

“Burlington’s dedication to attracting exceptional talent aligns seamlessly with CEDWC’s mission. I look forward to collaborating with my fellow board members to advance our shared goals and drive meaningful impact.”

Fair earned his BA in political science at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and MA and PhD in public policy and administration at Mississippi State University.

Since 2021, CEDWC has worked to bring together leaders in industry, government and academia to focus on building and harnessing diverse workforces and creating ethical and healthy workplace cultures.
