If you ask marketing major Rayna Friedrich about her most memorable experience from her four years at Temple University’s Fox School of Business, she is quick to answer.
“The global immersion trips were just an amazing experience—truly trips of a lifetime,” Friedrich says.
Friedrich took part in two of Fox School “Global Immersion” opportunities, studying abroad in Portugal in spring 2023 and Dubai this past January.
“I never thought that coming to Temple would lead me to being able to travel internationally, especially alongside my peers and professors,” she says.
Whether it was having a chance to visit famous sights like the Burj Khalifa or taking her favorite class, Market Research, each of her Temple experiences have prepared her for her next step: success in the marketing industry.
A native of King of Prussia, PA, Friedrich first entered the Fox School as a business management major before switching to marketing in her sophomore year.
“My time within the Temple community has made me more confident, more well-rounded, and that was through the overall experience of putting my feet in different things. I know all my experiences will come together to help me find success and confidence not only within my marketing abilities, but within every aspect of my career.”
Once within the program, she quickly found the course offerings confirmed she had made the right decision.
“The entire marketing major experience made me aware that there are so many different facets of marketing you can enter professionally, some of which I was not even aware of before I came to Temple,” Friedrich says.
“I found my classroom experience to be immensely comprehensive and made me realize the potential for what direction I wanted to pursue within the industry—I especially enjoyed learning about topics like the psychology behind consumer buyer behavior.”
In addition to her success in the classroom, she was also keen on student leadership. Heavily involved in the Business Honors Student Association, she rose within the group from member to vice president of marketing to executive vice president to eventually president for the 2024 calendar year.

With a focus on industry preparedness, she also completed integral marketing internships with the Temple athletics department (2023), popular retail chain “Five Below” (summer 2023) and QVC (May – December 2024). These experiences allowed her to network and gain imperative experiences beyond the Fox community.
Her hard work in these roles clearly left a notable impression: she’s accepted a full-time position with QVC to be their senior coordinator of digital marketing upon graduation.
As she prepares for her new path, she will carry all her Fox experiences with her along the way—especially for how much they helped her grow as a person.

“As much as those global immersions granted me the opportunity to expand my business knowledge, they also helped me develop a wider cultural understanding—I could not recommend those opportunities highly enough—they truly were my top moments from my time at the Fox School,” Friedrich says.
