Although Abby Dorotov hasn’t officially graduated from Temple University’s Fox School of Business yet, she knows her graduation ceremony will be filled with excitement.
It’s celebrating one of the most impactful times of her life!
“I already know that I am going to be able to reflect on this experience as one that I am really proud of,” Dorotov said. “Everything I learned, everything I experienced, everything I tried—all these little moments have made this journey great.”
And at this winter’s Fox School graduation ceremony, she’ll get to share her experience with everyone in attendance.
Dorotov, class of 2026, is the Fox School’s winter graduation student speaker. A management information systems (MIS) major from Newtown, PA, Dorotov has spent her time at Temple embodying what the university hopes any student can achieve: classroom success, community impact and a paved pathway to a professional future.

When you ask her, Dorotov says the one word to define her experience at Temple has been “transformative.” When you learn about her time on campus, you understand why.
After first entering Temple as an actuarial science major, she switched to MIS in the spring of her sophomore year. While she navigated and ultimately found the right fit for herself academically, she discovered strong connections, friends, mentorship and leadership opportunities along the way.
“I remember my sophomore year was when I really began to feel that Temple was becoming a home for me,” Dorotov said.
“I had been in some of my on-campus involvements for one whole year already, students were coming to me in search of advice on how to navigate their freshman year—I felt this shift like ‘OK, I have my ground, I have my footing and now people are looking up to me.’”
Her dedication to being a good role model for students continued to grow through her many on-campus activities where she took on leadership positions. In addition to being a peer leader, she has served as the director of mentorship for Temple’s Association for Information Systems (AIS), competition manager of the competitive student a capella group, LiaChorus, and president of “Chabad,” the Jewish religious community on campus.

She’s also found great success in the classroom that has set her up for professional success. Beyond graduation, Dorotov will begin a full-time role as a social listening analyst on the optimization and reporting team at Athena Global Advisors in Philadelphia.
And while her own graduation is quickly approaching, her ties to the school run deep: her older sister is a Temple alumnus and her younger sister is a member of the Fox School’s class of 2028.
“Temple will always have such a special place in my heart—this was such a special time in my life, and I know I am going to be proud to not only reflect on this experience personally, but also carry it with me forward,” Dorotov said.
“Knowing what I know now, I can’t imagine choosing any other school.”
