Two members of the Temple University Small Business Development Center (TUSBDC) received statewide awards for their standout performance and dedicated service to our small business community.
Each year, PASBDC evaluates centers across key performance indicators. This year’s awards include:
- Isabel Krome, Top Startups Award: Awarded to the business consultant with the most business starts in the Pennsylvania SBDC network for the last full program year.
- Gregory Maughan, Rising Star Award: Honors team members with less than three years of service with the network for leadership and dedication to serving clients.
“I am incredibly proud of Isabel and Gregory for their terrific work. They are both incredible assets to our team at the Temple SBDC,” said Erika Tapp Duran, Director.
“This may be an individual award but really, it reflects a team effort— the folks at the Temple SBDC show up every day for our clients, and watching so many incredible people trust in their vision and take the leap to start something of their own is honestly the best part of this job,” said Isabel Krome, Associate Director.
“Rising Star may be an individual award, but I believe it recognizes the incredible team at Temple SBDC who collectively have inspired and enabled me to do my best work,” said Gregory Maughan, Business Consultant.

The Pennsylvania Small Business Development Center at Temple University is part of a nationally accredited program that provides educational training, business resources, and experienced no-cost, confidential consulting to small business owners and entrepreneurs in Philadelphia and Montgomery counties. The Pennsylvania SBDC has a statewide network of 15 centers to serve small businesses and support the economic growth of the commonwealth of PA.
