The Fox School of Business at Temple University continues to rise as a leader among business schools recognized for case study production, implementation and global reach.
Fox is now ranked No. 31 in The Case Centre Impact Index 2026 report, up two places from 2025 and up 19 places from the school’s 2023 ranking.
“I am absolutely delighted to see Fox reach No. 31 in The Case Centre Impact Index,” said Sunil Wattal, associate dean of research and doctoral programs at Fox. “The rise of 19 places in three years is a wonderful recognition of our faculty’s creativity, dedication and commitment to bringing business challenges into the classroom.”
Wattal added that the ranking is especially meaningful because it complements the school’s strength in academic research.
“We want Fox to be a school that both advances the frontier of knowledge and shapes how business is taught and practiced,” he said. “Our progress in case writing shows what is possible when we deliberately support both.”
With more than 125 case studies published with Ivey Publishing and more than 228,800 of those cases sold worldwide as of July 2026, Fox has solidified its place as a global leader in case writing.
“The ranking shows educators worldwide are choosing Fox cases to prepare future business leaders,” Wattal said. “Alongside our No. 45 global UTD research ranking, it highlights our strength in both advancing knowledge and bringing insights into the classroom.
“Together, these strengths demonstrate how Fox connects research, learning and practice, strengthening our reputation and creating opportunities to engage prospective students, industry partners and donors.”
Through the Translational Research Center at Fox, faculty are able to connect with organizations to bring real decisions into the classroom by drawing on Greater Philadelphia’s diverse business community.
“We are building on this foundation with seed funding and a case hotline that invites industry partners to share ideas—making collaboration easier and expanding opportunities for new cases,” Wattal said.
The school also hosts workshops, tutorials and an annual case writing competition to help faculty develop ideas for case studies. This past summer, Fox held its inaugural Case Conference, bringing together faculty to share ideas, learn from experts and strengthen their case writing skills.
Valued as an important teaching tool, the cases help put students in the role of decision-makers, challenging them to weigh evidence, navigate uncertainty and defend their recommendations.
“What makes case writing and teaching so rewarding is the energy and excitement it brings to business education,” said Neha Mittal, professor of instruction and case director at Fox’s Translational Research Center. “For faculty, it offers an opportunity to explore real business challenges and turn them into engaging classroom discussions. For students, it makes learning more interactive, practical and enjoyable.
“It is especially exciting to see cases developed at Fox being used in classrooms around the world, extending the impact of our faculty and industry partnerships far beyond Philadelphia.”
