When Lateefat Adewale visited Temple University’s Fox School of Business on a prospective student visit, she realized then that she had to be a part of it.

“Almost instantly, I felt this deep connection to the school and the campus,” Adewale says. “I remember thinking to myself how badly I wanted to be here and a part of this community.

“It felt like the Fox School was the perfect next step for me.”

Now that she is here, she is thriving.

Adewale enrolled at Fox for the start of the fall 2024 semester after transferring from Bucks County Community College, not far from where she grew up in Croydon, PA.

“I am so excited to serve as a Fox Student Ambassador,” Adewale says. “Getting involved in initiatives beyond my studies felt like the final piece of the puzzle for me in terms of becoming a well-rounded student here. ”

The Transfer Process

Despite previously visiting campus thanks to her family and friend’s ties to Temple, becoming a student here never seemed possible, until her visit last spring.

“Our entire cohort of business students from Bucks visited here as prospective students,” Adewale says. “That visit changed so much for me because I realized it was actually possible for me to join this incredible community.

“I left the day asking myself, ‘OK, how can I make this happen for myself?’”

Adewale found that Fox satisfied all of the factors she considered during the transfer process. These included the school’s professional development and extracurricular activity offerings, diversity, affordability and, perhaps the one that stood out most to her, its location.

“Two huge elements for me were how diverse Fox is and also where it is located,” Adewale says. “Being in the city of Philadelphia is not only very exhilarating, but it also allows for so many opportunities to network, search for internships and potential jobs and engage with professionals in my desired field.”

Applying Credits to a Fox Degree

Another important element for Adewale was the school’s transferrable credits program. Thanks to a strong credit transfer agreement established between the two institutions, she is currently enrolled at Fox and is on track to graduate in spring 2026.

“I did a lot of research on the degree offerings at Fox, which I recommend any transfer student do,” Adewale says. “I felt that pursuing a degree in risk management and insurance could help me achieve my career aspirations of working within the industry of human resources, specifically in employee benefits.”

Engaged in the Community

Beyond the classroom, Adewale has also made efforts to engrain herself in the campus life around her.

“I am so excited to serve as a Fox Student Ambassador,” Adewale says. “Getting involved in initiatives beyond my studies felt like the final piece of the puzzle for me in terms of becoming a well-rounded student here. “

“I also am really looking forward to having the opportunity to participate in a global immersion or study abroad semester! The idea of exploring a different country while also earning credits and working toward my degree is very exciting to me.”

As she continues to find success, Adewale is often reminded how grateful she is to be joining the Fox School.

“From the first day I visited, everyone here has been so encouraging and welcoming,” Adewale says. “I wanted to immerse myself in an environment that showcases the importance of diversity and one that encourages exploration and growth on a personal level, and I’ve found that here.

“I’ve had family and friends tell me about how this community helped them thrive and bring out the best in them—I am so excited for it to do the same for me.”
