Research Advancement and Impact Seedfunding (RAIS) Symposium
The Research Advancement and Impact Seedfunding (RAIS) Symposium is an annual event open to current Fox School faculty and PhD students for seed funding grants to undertake novel interdisciplinary research projects. The traditional RAIS seed funding grants in the amount of $500 to $5,000, with an annual amount of $50,000, will be available for proposal submission groups seeking small or medium outside funding grants.
RAIS takes place in the fall semester. To learn more contact doctoral@temple.edu.
PhD Student Research Competition
The PhD Student Research Competition is an annual school-wide research forum that affords top-tier PhD students and alumni the opportunity to present their research, receive awards and begin building their academic resumes. Categories include research from first year, second year, and third-to-fourth year doctoral students; dissertation proposals, and completed dissertations. Faculty judge the rigor of the research design, execution, and data analysis; the novelty of the research; the students’ presentation, including their oral performance, graphical poster, and written paper; and the research’s contribution to theory, practice, or policy.
The PhD Student Research Competition takes place annually in the fall semester. Learn more at fox.temple.edu/phd.
The Research Enhancement for Competitive and Accelerated Publishing (RECAP) Award
The RECAP award provides small funding amounts to researchers who have received a Revise & Resubmit (R&R) decision from a Fox School top journal (as defined in the Fox P&T document) and require additional resources to strengthen their revisions. By supporting high-potential research at a critical stage, RECAP aims to enhance publication success rates and accelerate impactful knowledge dissemination.
Some examples of how funds provided by RECAP can be used for include:
- Data Acquisition
- Experimental Studies
- Research Assistance (such as hiring a student worker)
