While spring semester courses for the 2023-2024 academic year have ended, Temple University’s Main Campus stays active all summer long.
Many campus offerings stay open throughout the summer, including food outlets, recreation options, academic buildings and offices. Here’s a list of some key locations and their summer availability.
This list is just a sample of campus offerings during the summer. Please check each department or program website for more details. Also note that the hours listed below may be subject to change.
Campus Recreation
Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to get those gains over the summer.
- IBC Student Recreation Center will be open Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Aramark STAR Weight Room will also be open Monday – Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Rec courts, pool and climbing wall will also be open during the summer, with hours posted on the Campus Recreation website.
Wellness Resource Center
Temple’s Wellness Resource Center offers wellness consultations, safer sex supplies and peer education programs. The Wellness Resource Center office will remain open Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. over the summer. For current events and resources, visit the Wellness Resource Center website.
Charles Library
- Charles Library will be open seven days a week throughout the summer, but closes at 6 p.m. daily instead of 2 a.m.
- The 24/7 study area will stay open as usual all summer long.
- Stella’s Cafe will be open from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., Monday – Friday.
TECH Center
The TECH Center is open Monday – Thursday from 7:30 a.m. – 9 p.m., Fridays from 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. However, these hours are only for Summer Session I, which runs from May 13 to June 26, and could change for Summer Session II.
Saxbys
Saxbys on Liacouras Walk is open daily throughout the summer, from 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday, and from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Saxbys inside Alter Hall will be closed during the summer.
Howard Gittis Student Center, Graphics Media Center and the Game Room
The Howard Gittis Student Center will be open from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday – Friday and closed on weekends. The Graphics Media Center will be open Monday – Thursday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., but the Game Room will be closed for the summer.
Food Court summer hours vary:
- Starbucks: Mon – Fri, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
- Burger Fi: Mon – Fri, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- Closed for summer: Chick-Fil-A, Saladworks, Which Wich, Twisted Taco, Wing Stop and Zen.
Cherry Pantry
Cherry Pantry will be open in its all-new SAC location over the summer on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Please remember that Cherry Pantry is open to anyone regardless of need!
Richie’s Cafe
Richie’s Cafe, located at 1802 N. Warnock St, is only open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. throughout the summer. Be sure to stop in for a waffle, a panini or a latte!
Food Trucks and Stands
Many of the food trucks and stands near Temple’s main campus stay open throughout the summer! Here’s a “mostly” comprehensive list, along with their summer hours. Note: these hours can change.
- Bagel Hut: 7 a.m. – 1 p.m., Monday – Friday
- E&E Gourmet: 6:30 a.m. – 3 p.m., Monday – Friday
- Pasha’s Halal: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m., Monday – Sunday
- NY Famous Gyro: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m., Monday – Sunday
- Mexican Stand (near SAC): 11 a.m.– 5 p.m., Monday – Friday
- The Patty Wagon: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday
- Nanu’s Nashville Hot Chicken: 10 a.m. – 10 p.m., Monday – Sunday
- Friendly Tasty Dishes B2 Halal: 10 a.m. – 11 p.m., Monday – Sunday
- Los Jiminez Mexican Food: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday; 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday
- Temple Teppanyaki: 9:30 a.m.– 3 p.m., Monday – Friday
- Foot Long Truck: 9:15 a.m. – 2 p.m., Monday – Thursday (Closed in July)
- Penn Halal Gyro 2: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday – Friday
- Crepe Truck: 11 a.m.– 4 p.m., Monday – Friday
- Burger Tank: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday
- Lunch Truck: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday – Friday
The Wall
Technically the “12th Street Vendor Pad,” The Wall has six different food stands serving pizza, coffee, sandwiches, rice dishes and more. All six places will be open over the summer, but they will have slightly different hours than during the school year:
- Eddie’s Pizza: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday
- Fame’s Pizza: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday – Friday
- Hank’s: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday
- Richies: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday-Friday
- Tai’s Vietnamese Food: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday
- Orient Express: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday
