Grant Proposal and Funding Process Overview

Grant Proposal Support

Grant proposals are the first step to securing funding and it starts with finding the right grant opportunity and crafting a competitive proposal.

See below funding opportunities curated by the Office of Research and a broader grant opportunity database provided by the Office of the Vice President of Research (OVPR)

Funding Opportunities

After you have found the right grant opportunity, submit a new proposal request form by using the Proposal Submissions Form. A member of our Grants Administration team will be in contact shortly with next steps and required documentation for your proposal.

Duedates and Requirements

Come prepared! To help Fox faculty and doctoral students most effectively, the Office of Research requests that you have the following items ready:

  • The research project abstract
  • A draft budget and budget justification
  • The researcher’s current CV

To ensure a timely grant proposal submission, please keep in mind the following due dates

  • The Office of Research requests an abstract (final format not necessary), a budget, and budget justification two 21 days prior to the sponsor due date
  • All administrative portions of the submission must be submitted five (5) full business days prior to the deadline.
  • The scientific portion or research plan must be submitted two (3) full business days prior to the deadline.

Grant policies, Federal Guidance, and OVPR Communications

See below for further grant policies, guidance, and communications from the Office of Research and OVPR.:

Mandatory Training for Federal Grant Proposals and Grants

With the research development landscape evolving, mandatory training is required by federal sponsors to protect the integrity of federally funded research. See below to learn more and access training portals.

Research Dissemination

You put in all the work—collecting data, analyzing information, writing the article. But then what? The Office of Research is here to help Fox faculty and doctoral students get their research out into the world.

First, upload your paper to the Social Science Research Network (SSRN). Why? To name just a few reasons: it enhances your online presence, makes your research accessible, and allows you to start collecting citations. It also will be added to the Fox School Research Paper Series, a monthly e-journal with over 6,000 subscribers. Click here for instructions.
