How is corporate resistance motivating new waves of social responsibility advocates?

As corporations continue to generate harm for communities and resist demands for social responsibility, they inadvertently shape new waves of challengers—such the rising B Corp movement—who stand up against them.

Todd Schifeling found that different forms of corporate responses to social concerns motivated different forms of mobilization among B Corps. While some B Corps were motivated by growth and eventually toppling shareholder supremacy, others were motivated by authenticity and holding themselves to a higher standard.

Though these motivations may seem paradoxical, Schifeling notes that the delicate balance between growth and authenticity is ultimately what will enable B Corps to drive transformative change.
