His research examines financial institutions, debt contracting, capital markets, and sustainability accounting, with a particular focus on how institutional arrangements—such as standard setting, regulation, private contracting, and the market for corporate control—shape financial and non-financial reporting practices. His work has appeared in leading academic journals, including The Accounting Review, Review of Accounting Studies, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, Contemporary Accounting Research, and Management Science. He was a recipient of the inaugural 2023 AAA-AACSB-RRBM Award for Research Impacting Societal Challenges.
